MAINGEAR's new Pulse laptops pack GeForce RTX graphics, mechanical keyboards
The Pulse 15 and Pulse 17 pack plenty of power for gamers and content creators alike.
MAINGEAR today took the wraps off of its latest pair of laptops, the Pulse 15 and Pulse 17. Both are joining the bandwagon of gaming notebooks featuring NVIDIA's latest GeForce RTX graphics for laptops, and they're squarely targeted at both gamers and content creators.
For gaming laptops, they're relatively thin, with the Pulse 15 coming in at .86 inches thick and the Pulse 17 coming in at .98 inches thick. Weight will likely be an issue for anyone betting on portability, however, with the Pulse 15 and 17 weighing in at 4.4 pounds and 5.2 pounds, respectively. But they're far from the heaviest gaming laptops out there.
On the inside, both laptops feature Intel's 8th Gen Core i7-8750 processor, up to 2TB of speedy storage courtesy of Samsung's 970 Pro NVM SSD, and up to 32GB of RAM. The displays measure at 15.6 inches and 17.3 inches with 1080p resolutions and 144Hz refresh rates. Meanwhile, both pack mechanical keyboards with individual RGB lighting and replaceable keycaps.
As for graphical power, you'll be able to equip the laptops with either NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or 2070 Max-Q graphics chips.
If you want to add a bit of customization to your rig, MAINGEAR is also offering its "MARC III' custom paint jobs, which "can apply full coverage artwork encased in a high gloss true automotive paint finish," the company says.
The Pulse 15 and Pulse 17 are available now starting at $1,500.
