LastPass, a popular password management app, has made its app free to use on mobile phones and tablets, but still requires a $12 annual fee to sync that information with a computer. Previously, the company offered its services for free on computers, but required the fee for mobile users, and that has now changed.
After realizing that a large number of customers wanted to download the apps and use them on mobile phones and tablets, LastPass wanted to make it easier to get started with its app wherever you started using it. Joe Siegrist, CEO of LastPass said:

The new freemium model for the app lets users sign up online, or on a phone or tablet, and sync across the same type of device for free. This means, if you sign up on a computer, you can access the information from other computers, or if you sign up on a mobile device, you can access from other mobile phones and tablets. If you want the cross-platform sync, to keep your phone and computer on the same page, that will still require the $12 annual subscription fee.
