HyperX is being acquired by HP for $425 million. The companies announced the deal today, which will see brand Kingston and former parent company of HyperX sell the titular headset brand but retain its other technologies, such as DRAM, flash and SSD products.

HyperX is a brand of gaming accessories that makes some of the best Xbox headsets and best PC gaming headsets around, as well as plenty of other gear for players to enjoy like microphones, keyboards, mice and mouse maps.

David Sun (Co-founder and COO) and I saw the possibilities for the HyperX business and its employees and we both realized that this change brings a brighter future for HyperX."

The acquisition is expected to close sometime in the second quarter of 2021, pending regulatory review as well as other necessary procedures and conditions.
