HP's new Omen X 35 monitor is a widescreen beauty built for the gaming crowd
HP has announced its latest product for the gaming crowd, the Omen X 35, and it's a doozy. As the name suggests, the Omen X 35 is a 35-inch curved display, and it happens to feature plenty of bells and whistles that should delight gamers.
HP is touting the Omen X 35's immersive qualities, and it's not hard to see why. At 35-inches, the monitor should cover your field of vision with its cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio and 3440×1440 resolution. Support for NVIDIA's G-Sync is also on board. meaning you should see more consistency and an end to screen tearing when hooked up to a PC kitted out with an NVIDIA graphics card. A 100Hz refresh rate and 4ms response time should also help to keep the action buttery smooth.
HP also says that there is "virtually no bezel" around the display, making it much easier to integrate into a multi-monitor setup. As for ports, you're looking at single DisplayPort and HDMI ports, along with 3 USB 3.0 ports. When you're all done gaming, you can even store your headset on the monitor with a built-in headphone hook.
Unfortunately, for all of its perks, the Omen X 35 comes with a pretty hefty price tag. The display is set to go on sale in March for $1,300.
