HP adds AMOLED display to Spectre x360 15, burgundy color for Spectre Folio
New design and display options are making HP's Spectre lineup even more attractive.
As CES 2019 kicks off this week, HP is getting started by introducing some new design and display options to its Spectre lineup. Perhaps the biggest addition is an AMOLED display for the Spectre x360 15, which HP says makes it the world's first 15-inch laptop with an AMOLED display. But Spectre Folio fans are also picking up a new aesthetic with a "Bordeaux Burgundy" color and optional 4K display.
The AMOLED display option on the Spectre x360 15 marries the laptop's beefy specs with a bright, poppy screen. If you're already familiar with AMOLED displays on mobile devices, then you'll know to expect darker blacks and more saturated colors across the screen. That's combined with the Spectre x360 15's six-core 8th Gen Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti graphics.
The HP Spectre x360 15 with AMOLED is expected to be available in March with pricing to be revealed at launch.
In October, HP unveiled the Spectre Folio, trading the typical aluminum design seen on premium convertible laptops for leather. While initially available only in a "Cognac Brown" color, HP today is introducing a new "Bordeaux Burgundy" finish. The deep color is also joined by a new 4K display option, complementing the 13.3-inch 1080p option available with the original.
Otherwise, the Spectre Folio is available with the same 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8200Y and i7-8500Y processors, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD storage.
The HP Spectre Folio is available in Bordeaux Burgundy starting today for $1,310.
