Mobile games are all the rage nowadays, and Microsoft wasn't about to let that slide. Minecraft Earth is their attempt to bring the creativity and freedom of Minecraft into the real world, all through the power of your smartphone. The game is still a little rough around the edges, but has already improved by leaps and bounds. Another thing that's coming in leaps and bounds? The number of unique mobs that Minecraft Earth has over its older, more famous brother, Minecraft.
The latest update to the title is bringing a few new mobs, including the new ram—excuse me, the horned sheep. As the name implies, this mob looks and awful lot like a regular sheep, just with great curved horns attached to the side of its head. Also coming are two variants of the golem class of mobs (previously inhabited by the iron and snow golems.) The new iron furnace golem seems to be very similar to the iron golem, but with fiery and aggressive attacks. The other golem seems closer to the aforementioned snow golem, in that the melon golem used a rapid ranged seed attack to defend itself rather than close-range combat. They also seem to be more effective in small groups, rather than on their own.
Will these mobs every find their way to vanilla Minecraft? As insinuated in the latest episode of Ask Mojang we reported on earlier, the possibility isn't off the table, but it isn't confirmed by any means. Hopefully we'll see more variants come to Minecraft to make the world even more lively than it already is.

The only thing that could make Minecraft even better is if you could play it in more places. Wait, you can? That's right, because Minecraft is available on almost every platform imaginable including Xbox One, Windows 10, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS.
