How to buy an RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 on launch day — Retailers, prices, and everything you need to know
The first two GPUs from NVIDIA's Blackwell era are set to launch on January 30.
NVIDIA unveiled its next-gen graphics cards at CES 2025, with promises of a January 30 launch in tow. The initial run includes the two most powerful "Blackwell" RTX 5000 graphics cards — the RTX 5090 and the RTX 5080 — with the RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti expected to launch sometime in February.
As is customary, NVIDIA is releasing a limited supply of its Founders Edition (FE) reference GPUs on launch day. If you don't manage to snag an FE version, rest assured that there will also be plenty of RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 models available from NVIDIA's partners, including ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, PNY, ZOTAC, and more brands.

Why you can trust Windows Central
Fans of NVIDIA's Founders Edition cards — the hardware that board partners tweak and build on to create their own versions — will have the best luck on launch day by shopping at NVIDIA's official website or several third-party retailers, including Best Buy.
A limited supply means you might have the most competition in this area. If you don't manage to snag an FE version of the RTX 5090, there's expected to be a range of reference cards also dropping on January 30. Availability will differ depending on the retailer. I've been sure to note which retailers have third-party cards, as well as which brands are on offer.
I've rounded up retailers that already have listings for the RTX 5090 in the US and the UK, as well as retailers that have traditionally been go-to spots for NVIDIA GPUs on launch day.
