Halo Wars 2: Complete Edition now available on Xbox One, Windows 10
Halo Wars 2: Complete Edition has arrived, bundling together the base game with all of its extra content.
Halo Wars 2 has seen quite a bit of additional content since the real-time strategy (RTS) title was released in February, and now it's all together in one package. Microsoft has released Halo Wars 2: Complete Edition for Xbox One and Windows 10, which brings together the base game with all of its DLC content — including the new Awakening the Nightmare expansion.
In all, the Complete Edition includes the original 12 campaign missions, plus the seven additional multiplayer leaders and two campaign missions included in the season pass content. The addition of Awakening the Nightmare brings to the fray another five campaign missions, two multiplayer leaders, and a tower-defense co-op mode.
Halo Wars 2 takes place years after the events of the original Halo Wars and not long after Halo 5: Guardians. The game pits players against a group of aliens known as the Banished and their leader, warlord Atriox. Awakening the Nightmare, the new expansion that is also available today, expands Halo Wars 2 by letting players take control of the Banished when they come into contact with the parasitic Flood.
If you're a fan of both the Halo universe and RTS gameplay, Halo Wars 2 is likely up your alley. In our review, we found the game to be a tremendous entry in the Halo franchise, from its excellent gameplay to its audio and visuals.
Halo Wars 2: Complete Edition is an Xbox Play Anywhere title and is available for $59.99. If you already own Halo Wars 2, Awakening the Nightmare can be had as a standalone purchase for $19.99.
