How you can watch the Halo TV show right when it releases.
The Halo TV series is here after over nine years of development, and between its high production value and high-profile cast of talented actors, the show is anticipated to impress longtime Halo fans and franchise newcomers alike. But when exactly do new episodes of the show release? Additionally, is the launch timing for each new episode different depending on which region of the globe you live in?
In this guide, we go over everything you need to know about the release time of the Halo TV series, including what to expect from the show, when each episode debuts in your local time zone, and which services you can watch the show on.
What is the Halo TV series?
The Halo TV series is Microsoft and 343 Industries' official TV adaptation of the famed Halo franchise, which has been home to several video games, novels, and short films since the release of Halo: Combat Evolved in 2001. The show was originally announced in 2013 as a Showtime original and was slated to release in 2015, but was pushed back several times as the series changed directors and producers and was eventually moved to Paramount Plus.
The Halo TV series follows Spartan supersoldier Master Chief (Pablo Schreiber) and his comrades (Kate Kennedy, Natasha Culzac, Bentley Kalu) as they, along with the rest of the United Nations Space Command (UNSC), attempt to stop an alliance of aliens known as the Covenant from wiping out humanity. Some other important characters include Miranda Keyes (Olive Gray) and Spartan Soren-066 (Bokeem Woodbine), and the show will also feature the perspective of a character named Makee (Charlie Murphy), a human woman that was raised by the Covenant and works with them.
Notably, the Halo TV series takes place in what 343 Industries calls a "Silver Timeline" — a separate version of the Halo universe that is very similar, but not identical to, the canon of the Halo games and novels. This Silver Timeline has allowed the series' showrunners to craft its story without having to worry about adhering to the events of previous Halo media, and it also helps ensure that the TV series is more approachable for newcomers to the Halo series.
