What you need to know

  • 343 Industries' Community Director Brian "Ske7ch" Jarrard has confirmed on Reddit that an update on Halo Infinite is coming "this week."
  • The update will primarily focus on the developer's sandbox team and what they are creating for Halo Infinite.
  • Jarrard also stated that 343 Industries is committing to updates on a monthly basis.

According to a Reddit comment made by Brian "Ske7ch" Jarrard, 343 Industries' Community Director, the studio plans to release a new update on Halo Infinite "this week." This update will be the second one that the Halo developer has given fans following the delay of Halo Infinite to Fall 2021, with the first being an "Inside Infinite" article in December 2020 that showed off some of the game's weapons and armor customizations in vivid detail.

According to Jarrard, this upcoming update will also be an Inside Infinite article. It will be centered around the game's sandbox team and the vision its members have for Halo Infinite's gameplay. He set expectations by stating that "this won't have world premier big screenshots or huge things like a date announce, but our goal is to offer our community more context and insights into our team and the game we're making while we're all awaiting the larger beats and full marketing machine later this year."

Notably, Jarrard also stated in this post that 343 Industries is committing to "at least monthly high level updates," which means that players can likely expect a new Inside Infinite every month leading up to the game's release. Since the phrase "at least" was used, it's also possible that there will be more than one update each month. Considering one of the biggest issues the Halo community has had with 343 Industries recently is lack of communication, this is great to hear.

Halo Infinite is expected to release for $60 in Fall 2021 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One consoles, and Windows 10 PCs.
