What you need to know

  • Halo 3: ODST has officially launched on PC for both Steam and Windows 10 Store users.
  • The game costs $5, and includes both the Campaign as well as the Firefight horde mode.
  • Only one game remains for 343 Industries to bring to PC: Halo 4.

Halo developer 343 Industries has officially released Halo 3: ODST on PC (both on Steam and the Windows 10 Store) an hour before its previously confirmed release date of September 22, 2020. The game is part of the full Master Chief Collection (MCC), and it includes both the Campaign as well as the famed cooperative Firefight multiplayer horde mode. It costs $5 to purchase standalone, or you can get it with a $40 purchase of the full MCC that includes all the Halo games in it.

With Halo 3: ODST out, the only game that remains for 343 Industries to bring to PC is Halo 4. Once Halo 4 is on PC, the developer's goal to port the full MCC to the platform will be completed. Hopefully, we can then see Halo Wars 2 brought to Steam as well, as we think the game deserves to be on it. For now, though, we're just happy to see Halo 3: ODST live for PC gamers to enjoy.
