Gym Master Review, a collection of gym exercises that will wear you out

If you are struggling to get things rolling during Mobile Nations Fitness Month (or any other time of the year) and need a push in the right exercise routine direction, check out the Windows Phone app Gym Master.

Gym Master is a collection of gym exercises that are designed to help you lose weight, increase metabolism and strengthen your body. The app includes step-by-step directions, do's and don'ts and a little background information on the exercise's history.

While it lacks video demos on the exercise, it makes up for things by providing a ton of information on the exercise. Gym Master has an exercise database well suited for all levels of fitness buffs and is an appealing addition to the Windows Phone fitness library.

Gym Master Layout

The main pages for Gym Master are rather brief. You have a page listing the category of exercises and an About page. The category of exercises includes shoulders, chest, back, abdominal, biceps, triceps, legs and stretches.

Each category has a small collection of exercises designed to work that particular area of your body. The exercise will have a series of graphics illustrating the workout in action and highlighting the muscle groups it works.

Along with the illustrations, the exercise also has a series of information pages that include:

  • Muscles: This page will provide information on which muscle groups are used.
  • Tips: Useful tips on how to perform each exercise effectively.
  • Information: This page includes little tid bits on the exercise's history, reputation and how to perform the exercise correctly.
  • Don't(s): Tips on what not to do while performing the exercises. These tips help you avoid body position and mechanics issues that will impact the effectiveness of the exercise.

Overall Impression

Gym Master includes a nice selection of sixty-seven exercises and stretches that work seven muscle groups. The exercises incorporate a wide range of equipment from dumbbells to benches, which probably makes the app more useful for those who have gym memberships than those who workout at home.

The app lacks any means of marking an exercise as a favorite for quick reference or the means to log your exercises. However, if you are looking for a particular exercise to strengthen and tone a specific muscle group, Gym Master does a nice job of things. I particularly like the Don't(s) page for each exercise to better help you perform the exercise correctly.

All totaled, Gym Master is an appealing collection of gym exercises and a Windows Phone app worth having in your fitness library.
