What you need to know

  • Grounded is an open-world survival game from Obsidian Entertainment.
  • The game is currently in early access, so it's still very rough around the edges.
  • It recently got the 0.2.1 patch which addressed a lot of issues, but introduced a save loading bug for some players.
  • The new 0.2.2 hotfix solves this problem, but doesn't do anything else.

Being in Early Access and Game Preview means Grounded is going to suffer from more bugs (um, besides the included bugs) and issues than the average game. The team at Obsidian Entertainment is hard at work solving this, and recently released the 0.2.1 patch with a good deal of bug fixes in store for their ambitious project. However, it seems that patch introduced a bug in which players were running into their save files failing to load, which of course meant losing progress or being unable to play.

To resolve this issue, the Grounded team has released the 0.2.2 patch, which does nothing else besides fixing that singular bug players were running into. If you've been running into this issue, be sure to search for the update as soon as possible on your respective platform, as it can make your life a whole lot easier. In the mean time, we're still waiting for what's in store for the next content update for Grounded, as in the September content update. Hopefully we'll get more news in the next few weeks.
