Gears Tactics received great reviews when it released on PC in April. The XCOM-style turn-based strategy game set in the Gears of War universe tasks players with recruiting and commanding a squad to hunt down a monster-making mastermind.

Xbox players can now try the game, a launch title for Xbox Series X and Series S. Here's everything we know about the console release.

The Gears of War franchise has traditionally been Xbox focused, so while Gears Tactics launched as a PC exclusive, it's not surprising that Microsoft's console would be its next stop. Microsoft announced in April that Gears Tactics would be coming to Xbox One in late 2020, and it finally arrived on November 10, 2020 with the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

Gears Tactics has exceptionally well-optimized PC settings, so Microsoft took its time to come up with something that would give console players just as much control. The game is optimized for next gen consoles, playing in 4K Ultra HD at 60 FPS on the Xbox Series X and at 1440p 60 FPS on the Xbox Series S.

Players who purchase the game will have access to it on both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X through Smart Delivery. The game can be played at 4K 30 FPS on an Xbox One or 1080p 30 FPS on the Xbox One S. Mouse and keyboard controls are supported on all of the consoles.
