Gears 5 Xbox One controller possibly leaks
It looks so good.
What you need to know
- Gears 5 launches in September on Xbox One and PC.
- The game eliminates the season pass and loot crates.
- A Gears 5-themed controller appeared online.
- You can preorder the game for $50 on Amazon.
Gears 5 is a third-person shooter that launches in September and The Coalition keeps on providing us with new details about the upcoming game. Recently, Gears 5 Multiplayer Design Director Ryan Cleven discussed servers and balance tuning. The franchise will feature 60 Hz servers for the first time with Gears 5 and there is one tuning setup across core and competitive multiplayer modes.
However, it seems like there is a hardware surprise, too. A few days ago, an image of a Gears 5-themed Xbox One controller started appearing online. While one such image isn't proof that the device exists, since then, several outlets and retailers have posted images of the controller. As with any such leak, take it with a grain of salt until we receive an official confirmation, but it seems like it's the real deal.

The controller looks absolutely stunning and it seems like Controller Gear is going to release a stand for it as well. This has to be one of the best-looking controllers Microsoft has ever made in my opinion. Maybe the ones that launched with Halo 5: Guardians come close.
Unlike many other games, Gears 5 shines with Unreal Engine 4. The game looks stunning and runs at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second (FPS) on Xbox One X. Gears of War 4 ran at 4K 30 FPS during the campaign and 4K 60 FPS during multiplayer. This time around, both modes are the same frame rate.
Shoutout to "WalkingCat" for the tip.
