Today, Geoff Keighley announced some exciting news for Gears fans: a new look at the Gears 5 campaign will be unveiled at Gamescom Opening Night Live! The new footage will be unveiled on August 19 during the Gamescom Opening Night Live show and studio head of The Coalition Rod Fergusson will be with Keighley.

Previously, Geoff Keighley announced that we would see news from Xbox Game Studios but it was unclear what would be shown off.

We've seen a bit of the campaign already, with a glimpse from the E3 2018 reveal and the "Meet Fahz" cinematic that was released earlier in 2019. Still, that's only a tiny bit of what The Coalition has touted as the "largest Gears campaign we've ever built" so it's good that players will be getting another look at the campaign before launch.

It's currently scheduled to release on September 10, 2019 (September 6 for the Ultimate Edition). As with all Xbox Game Studios titles, Gears 5 is included in Xbox Game Pass.
