Ganiza – Social planning from your Windows Phone
Ganiza is a social planning app for your Windows Phone that is a new way to discover, share and plan activities with your friends.
The Windows Phone app will let you see what events are taking place in your area, create new events and help you plan your social activities with friends. If you aren't sure what to do, events can be voted on by the group to see which activities is the most appealing.
The app was released as an early prototype earlier this year and has undergone a massive restyling. The developers wanted to make going out with friends easier and from the looks of things, Ganiza will do just that.
Ganiza is laid out in a clean fashion with main pages to discover events in your area, view your profile/created events and see any notifications. You will need to register through either your Facebook or Microsoft account to use Ganiza. The Windows Phone app will utilize your phone's location services and has support for HERE maps to navigate you to the events of your choosing.
Local events will display the date and time of the event, a map thumbnail of the location and a brief description of what to expect. You can propose the event to your friends and event listings can be searched by keyword.
If you struggle with choosing an activity, you can create a list of proposals and send them to your friends to vote on. The list can be a combination of private and public activities and anyone who receives the list can see the proposals and vote for their favorite. I can see this feature eliminating repetitive text messages or phone calls.
In just tinkering with Ganiza for the past couple of days, it comes as a handy way to plan out your activities. It is available for iOS and Android platforms, which expands the app's, reach considerably. I can see it coming in handy for not only planning social events with friends but also if you have an event to promote.
