While the Deadpool X3 Pro will no doubt appeal to collectors, I fear its design is too much of a gimmick to be useful and GameSir has much better controllers within its range.

Last year, one of the biggest launches was Deadpool x Wolverine, and Xbox launched an infamous sweepstake with it's Deadpool Butt controller.
Infuriatingly, we couldn't actually buy it, and we let Xbox know how annoyed we were. However, GameSir has implemented the Deadpool design into one of its own mobile controllers that's perfect for Xbox cloud gaming. There aren't any butt cheeks I'm sorry to report, but there is that cool red and black leather effect and a fan to keep your phone cool.
Lets take a look at the Deadpool Edition of the GameSir X3 Pro.

The GameSir X3 Pro Deadpool Edition is currently available exclusively on GameSir's website for $99.99 and has yet to be sold at other retailers, unlike some of GameSir's other controllers. If the Deadpool-themed design and case aren't a priority, you can opt for the standard X3 Pro, available on Amazon for $79.99.
This special edition comes with a molded Deadpool carry case, designed specifically for the controller. The package also includes alternate sticks of varying heights and an interchangeable D-pad, offering some customization. .
GameSir X3 Pro Deadpool review: The good

- The sticks are Hall Effect, so durable, and micro-switch buttons are great.
The presentation and packaging of the GameSir X3 Pro Deadpool Edition is a significant upgrade from GameSir's usual offerings. From the moment you unbox it, it's clear they've paid close attention to style and detail, perfectly targeting their audience of Marvel collectors. This is some of the best presentation I've seen from GameSir.
The Deadpool-themed carry case is a standout feature. It has a soft interior to protect the controller, though it's molded specifically for the X3 Pro, which means you can't use it for other items. While I was a little disappointed by this limitation, the case’s Deadpool-inspired design and vibrant colorway more than make up for it.
Customization is another area where this controller shines. The inclusion of swappable ABXY face buttons is a thoughtful touch, letting you switch to a Nintendo-style layout if you prefer. You'll also find alternate sticks of varying heights and an interchangeable D-pad in the box, providing flexibility right out of the gate without needing to purchase additional accessories.
While the controller is on the bulkier side, you can remove the leather grips entirely for a layout that may suit smaller hands. If you're imagining gripping Deadpool's leather-clad butt cheeks (who wouldn't?), these grips are a playful nod to the theme and can be taken off entirely if you prefer a slimmer profile.
Performance-wise, GameSir has equipped the X3 Pro with Hall Effect sticks, ensuring durability and eliminating stick drift — a persistent issue with analog sticks used by the big names like Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo. The micro-switch buttons are another pleasant addition which are more tactile and precise than membrane counterparts.
Finally, for those using Xbox Cloud Gaming. Nvidia GeForce Now or similar services, this controller makes mobile gaming far easier and more enjoyable than fiddling with touch controls.
GameSir X3 Pro Deadpool review: The bad
- The GameSir X3 Pro fan is too loud to make use of.
- It doesn't fit larger phones very well, which is at odds with something for gaming.
One of the most disappointing features of the GameSir X3 Pro is its built-in fan. While the cooling effect does help keep your phone slightly cooler during extended gaming sessions, potentially benefiting the device's longevity, the execution isn't great. The fan is exceptionally loud, to the point where it feels like you're playing alongside a hairdryer.
Even with the option to switch between quick and quiet cooling modes, both are uncomfortably noisy, and I found myself turning it off entirely.
Adding to the inconvenience, the fan requires a separate power source. It doesn’t draw power from your phone, meaning you’ll need to plug it into another device or carry a power bank. This setup feels counterintuitive for a device designed for gaming on the go.
Another significant issue lies in the controller's fit for larger phones. While GameSir controllers are typically well-designed and comfortable, the X3 Pro struggled with the Samsung S23 Ultra I used for testing. Though the phone fits snugly at first glance, it doesn’t stay securely in place.
During gameplay, the grips would shift, and the phone frequently popped out of position. This problem seems to stem from the bulk of the grips, which disrupts the weight distribution.
This review stands in stark contrast to my experience with other GameSir mobile controllers, particularly my favorite, the GameSir G8. The G8’s simpler design and balanced weight make it much more comfortable for extended gaming, even with larger phones.
Unfortunately, the X3 Pro doesn't offer the same ease of use, which is disappointing for a premium-priced controller.
GameSir X3 Pro Deadpool review: Also consider
As mentioned, my favorite mobile controller which I recommend to anyone that will listen is the GameSir G8 which has USB-C connectivity, or the GameSir G8+ for those that prefer Bluetooth. They are priced at $80 on Amazon.

You should buy this if ...
✅You want a visually striking mobile controller and are a huge Deadpool fan
The GameSir X3 Pro is stunning and is modelled after Deadpools suit, and comes with a carry case.
✅You want a mobile controller that cools your device
The fan on the rear is effective at cooling your phone, if you aren't bothered by the noise.
You should not buy this if ...
❌You have a large phone
If you have screen larger than 6 inches like the Samsung Ultra range your phone will pop out of this
❌You don't care about the fan
There are much better mobile controllers in GameSir's range without the fuss of a fan
Overall, while I’ve always admired GameSir’s dedication to making innovative controllers at a lower price point, the X3 Pro Deadpool Edition missed the mark for me.
It’s sure to appeal to diehard Deadpool fans and Marvel collectors who value its unique themed design but as a functional, everyday device for Xbox Cloud Gaming, it falls short. For practical use, I’ll stick with GameSir’s more straightforward controllers, which consistently deliver comfort and reliability without the unnecessary faff.
