Got yourself a shiny new Legion Go S? The latest handheld from Lenovo is powered by a Ryzen Z2 processor and has a more ergonomic design than its predecessor. While we wait until later in the year for the SteamOS version, you may have jumped on the bandwagon already and be looking for some accessories to improve your experience and look after your new gaming handheld.

Our number one Legion Go accessory is the Anker 747 Power Bank Bundle since it allows you to recharge the gaming handheld on the go., and we've picked this for the Legion Go S, too.

We’ve reviewed the Legion Go S and think it’ll be interesting to see how the SteamOS version shapes Lenovo’s take on this format. But early adopters are already diving in, and if you’re a proud Legion Go S owner, we’re here to guide you toward the best accessories to complement your device.

Jen has been part of the Windows Central team for two years and has been playing video games since the 90s and is just as adept at Dark Souls and Diablo as she is at Petz 4. From consoles to handhelds and all the accessories in between, she's tested a bunch of tech for this site and knows a dud from a keeper.

Whether you want to use your Legion Go S at home, or on a long commute, you'll need the right accessories. From the right thing to carry it in and the correct wattage power banks to charge it with.

In our Legion Go S (Windows) review, we were ultimately disappointed with the handheld and wholly advise you to wait until the SteamOS edition launches later this year. Mainly because the cost of this handheld pits it against the Lenovo Legion Go and ASUS ROG Ally X, both of which can handle many more games at the cost of less storage (which you can expand anyway). That being said, if you're here because you've already purchased and love your Legion Go S, we're happy for you and want to make sure you have the right accessories to make it even better. Don't treat your $729.99 handheld with dodgy Temu chargers, for example.

If I had to pick two must-haves from this list for you, my top choices would be the Anker 747 Power Bank Bundle and the DBrand tempered glass screen protector.

First, the power bank is an absolute essential—gaming handhelds are amazing (and I can’t live without mine), but their battery life rarely keeps up with long sessions, especially when traveling. A power bank ensures you’re not left hunting for a train seat with a plug socket (speaking from experience). Second, the tempered glass screen protector will prevent those annoying little scratches that inevitably happen when you’re pulling your device in and out of a bag. While the other accessories are great, these two are the real needs.

Legion Go S accessory FAQ

Is there a dock for the Legion Go S?

Yes, Lenovo does offer an official Legion Go USB-C docking station, which will fit the S, too, and has a $64.99 MSRP. However, you can also find less expensive third-party docks at various online retailers.

Can Legion Go S use Ethernet?

Alone, no, but if you connect it to a dock such as the JSAUX one we have recommended, you can then achieve a wired internet connection using an Ethernet cable.

Can I use a 100w charger for Legion Go S?

Yes. You can use any charger or docking station with Legion Go, which offers 65W to 100W power delivery.

Can I use a Steam Deck or ROG Ally screen protector for Legion Go S?

No. The Legion Go S has an 8-inch display, while both the Steam Deck and ROG Ally have 7-inch displays. You're going to need the right size for your Legion Go S.

Can I use a Steam Deck or ROG Ally carrying case for Legion Go S?

Many hard cases made for the Steam Deck and ROG Ally will be made to fit those dimensions, so you are best to check the sizes in specifications first before a purchase. Soft carry cases tend to be more forgiving and fit a wider range of handhelds.

Do Legion Go accessories work with Legion Go S?

The Legion Go and Legion Go S are shaped and sized differently, so check the dimensions of carry cases and screen protectors. However, docks, power adapters, microSD cards, and such will work on both, as with all handhelds that share the same ports.

Do Steam Deck and ROG Ally accessories work with Legion Go S?

Most Steam Deck and ROG Ally accessories should work with the Legion Go S, especially if they use standard USB-C connections, as these devices all share similar ports, and many third-party accessories are designed to be compatible across multiple platforms. However, if you're looking at cosmetic items like carry cases, screen protectors, and skins, you may want to read up on dimensions first, as the Lenovo Legion Go S has a unique shape and size.
