Forza Horizon 4 to provide in-game rewards for Mixer streaming
Forza Horizon 4 is set to reward streamers using Microsoft's Mixer live streaming service.
Forza Horizon 4 saw its unveiling earlier this month at E3 2018, delivering the next expected entry in Playground Games racing series with an arcade twist. The game is set to debut an all-new UK setting, a refreshed car roster and various new features – including direct integration into Microsoft's Mixer live streaming service.
As discussed during a behind-closed-doors session with Playground Games art director, Benjamin Penrose, Ars Technica reports we'll be receiving deeper Mixer integration than previously seen. While prior implementations have given players tools to directly influence streamer gameplay, Forza Horizon 4 looks to reward players for streaming themselves.
Forza games have traditionally provided various ways for players to progress outside of racing states Penrose and Forza Horizon 4 is set to extend this to "streaming your gameplay on Mixer." Forza Horizon 4 will reportedly be able to recognize when players are streaming their game on the Mixer platform and will provide in-game bonuses.
We're yet to Forza Horizon 4's Mixer integration documented in-depth, meaning exact specifics on the system are unclear. Previous games have rewarded players with credits for creating paint jobs and tuning cars, indicating similar rewards could be served to those playing with an audience.
Forza Horizon 4 is currently on track for an October 2 release, starting at $59.99. The game will also be available via Xbox Game Pass, priced at $9.99 per month.
