Fortnite is a free-to-play third-person shooter with building mechanics. The title has become a cultural sensation due to its unique blend of expressive gameplay. In February 2018, Epic Games stated that the title was played by roughly 3.4 million gamers concurrently. Since then, that figure has ballooned to over 8.3 million.
Fortnite keeps on getting new content on a regular basis and Season 8 is starting in a few days. According to Epic Games, this latest update will bring with it a lot of pirate-themed items. Just like Sea of Thieves, expect a lot of hats, peg legs, and hooks. It's unclear what sort of weapons Season 8 will bring, but they might be in line with the theme.
