What you need to know

  • Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 3 is officially out.
  • The new season seems to focus all around diving in to the games new, flooded landscape.
  • The new Battle Pass features a handful of new characters, including DC's Aquaman.

After teasing fans with the an event that flooded the map earlier this week, Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 3 is officially here, with Epic Games releasing a brand new trailer for the new season, along with a trailer for its Battle Pass, during scheduled downtime for the game on Wednesday.

The biggest change to the game this season, as always, is the map. Mostly the entire left side of the map has now been submerged in water, which means places like Weeping Woods and Slurpy Swamp are no more. In order to get around better, players will want to utilize the games boat vehicles, as well as the newly added water skis, which players can use to catch a ride on a shark with.

Of course, it wouldn't be Fortnite without constant changes, and Epic does seem to plan on having the map change throughout the season. In a video for the Chapter 2 - Season 3 Battle Pass, it's revealed that cars will be making their way to the world of Fortnite, and will be usable once the water in the game begins to recede, whenever that is.

Speaking of the Battle Pass, this one will once again see a very famous comic book character make its way to the game. After Deadpool was released for the game last season, this time around Aquaman will be available in the Battle Pass. Alongside him, players will also be able to collect a ton of new skins, as well as customize their in-game umbrella for the first time ever, unlocking parts throughout the course of the season in order to truly make it their own.

Much like past seasons, this Battle Pass will also offer a ton of perks, including new skins, emotes, weapon skins, and of course, V-Bucks, meaning that if you complete the Battle Pass for Season 3, you'll be able to pick up the Battle Pass for Season 4 at no cost. The Battle Pass for Chapter 2 - Season 3 is 950 V-Bucks, which equals out to about $10.00 if you don't have them on your account already. Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 3 is available now!
