A few months ago, Square Enix announced that it was bringing a number of Final Fantasy games to Xbox One. Luckily, one of the announced titles was Final Fantasy VIII. Final Fantasy VIII is regarded as a cult classic and focuses on war. The Republic of Galbadia, under the influence of the sorceress Edea, mobilizes its armies against other nations of the world. Squall and other members of SeeD, an elite mercenary force, join hands with Rinoa, a resistance fighter, to fight against Galbadia's tyrannical rule.
You can purchase the game for $20 through the Microsoft Store today. Even though it's classified as a remaster, it still features massive black borders. The resolution has definitely been upgraded so it's clear.

On Xbox One X, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered looks even clearer than the standard Xbox One, but it's definitely not native 4K resolution. It's unclear if this is simply a post-processing effect or an actual upgrade to the rendering. Either way, it'll look great on modern displays because it's not a blurry and blocky experience.
It looks pretty good
The mega-hit role-playing game, Final Fantasy VIII returns! This Xbox One version features new graphical enhancements and a whole host of options to customize your gameplay experience.
