Fanband app now available in Windows Store, requires Windows Phone app to update band
We are big fans of the Fanband app for Windows Phone, which allows owners of the Microsoft Band fitness device to customize its wallpaper to show their support for their favorite sports team, TV show, video game and more. Now the developers of Fanband, Liquid Daffodil, have just launched the Windows 8.1 version of the app in the Windows Store.
Like the Windows Phone version, Fanband for Windows 8.1 allows users to pick from over 700 different wallpapers for their Microsoft Band. However, the developer notes that the Windows 8.1 version does require the Windows Phone Fanband app to be active in order to connect and update the Microsoft Band device.
Even with that requirement, Microsoft Band owners with a Windows 8.1 tablet or PC will see some benefits from using this new version of Fanband, including a way to search across all 700 themes and a way to see all of the themes in each category. Favorite wallpapers also sync across all devices as well.
Fanband for Windows 8.1 costs $1.99 but there is a free trial available from the Windows Store. Thanks to Scott for the tip!
