Fallout 4 mods will now need a Steam-linked account to be uploaded for Xbox One

Bethesda Softworks is now requiring that all mods for Fallout 4 have a Steam-linked account to Bethesda.net before they can be uploaded for Xbox One games.

PC-made mods for the post-apocalypse RPG were made available to play on the Xbox One a few weeks ago. However, many of those mods were uploaded to the console without the consent of their original creators. In a community post (via Polygon), Bethesda added the Steam-linked account requirement for mods, which should curtail the number of pirated mods to the Xbox One.

At E3 2016. Bethesda announced Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, a graphically enhanced version of its previous RPG. It will be released on October 28 and the Xbox One version will support the playing of the many PC mods already made for the game.
