Epic's Fortnite is headed to early access on PC and Xbox One in July
Fortnite, the long-awaited co-op survival game from Epic, is finally coming to PC and consoles. Epic has announced that the game will be available in "paid Early Access" on Xbox One, PC, and PS4 on July 25, and it's available for preorder now for $40.
Fortnite is a co-op title in which you work collaboratively with others to build up a fort and defend it from swarms of undead. In between waves, you'll get to scavenge the landscape for materials and other loot that you can then use to build up your fort. The premise sounds simple, but there looks to be plenty of depth involved between the player classes' abilities and the fact that you can literally build your forts in any way you see fit.
Epic is offering a Fortnite Founder's Pack that will give players access to the Early Access Season, along with heroes, loot, weapons and in-game boosts right off the bat. Anyone who pre-orders the Founder's Pack will also get to jump into the game four days early on July 21.
