XCOM-like Empire of Sin introduces a character based on John Romero's great-grandmother

Empire of Sin takes XCOM-like gameplay and sets it in a world of mobsters and criminal wars. Some of the mob bosses you'll see include famous real-world characters like Al Capone. For Mother's Day today, the developers at Romero Games shared a new video showing off a character named Elvira Duarte. The catch? She's based on John Romero's real great-grandmother. With XCOM: Chimera Squad and Gears Tactics already out, this is shaping up to be a strong year for turn-based tactics games. Empire of Sin is currently scheduled to release on Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch sometime later in fall 2020.
