Elite Dangerous: Odyssey PC Alpha finally arriving on March 29
Aspiring Commanders have a date for hitting the ground.
What you need to know
- Elite Dangerous: Odyssey is an upcoming expansion for space flight title Elite Dangerous.
- Odyssey puts players on the ground, taking on hostile forces in a completely new way.
- Frontier Developments revealed that the Elite Dangerous: Odyssey PC technical Alpha begins on March 29.
Elite Dangerous: Odyssey, the major upcoming expansion for Elite Dangerous that'll see players exit starships and engage in ground warfare on alien worlds, was delayed earlier this year into Spring 2021 for PC users and sometime in the fall for console players.
Fortunately, players on PC will also get to try this expansion out before the official release, as Frontier Developments announced today that the Elite Dangerous: Odyssey PC Alpha arrives on March 29. Frontier Developments also shared some new gameplay footage of a mission. In the video below, you can see three Commanders take on a hostile outpost in a raid.
Elite Dangerous is already widely considered one of the best PC games available, so it'll be interesting to see how this expansion turns out.
The full release still doesn't have an official date beyond sometime in late Spring 2021, so we'll be sure to share an update when Frontier Developments reveals the exact release date. You can wishlist Elite Dangerous: Odyssey on Steam right now and it's also available on the Epic Games Store and the Frontier Store.
A massive game, getting bigger.
Elite Dangerous is one of the best online sci-fi games around, and it's about to get even bigger. Despite a small delay for its next big expansion, players can still get into the rest of the already-massive Elite Dangerous for the best price yet right now.
