What you need to know

  • Warlords of New York is now available to players on PC and at midnight local time on console.
  • Extended downtime and server issues plagued initial access.
  • Full patch notes detail everything from Warlords of New York and the accompanying Title Update 8.

Update: As per the below tweet, the servers for PC players should now be starting to let people back in and the team is continuing to monitor the issue.

Original story: If you've been waiting to get back to Manhattan and get hunting for Aaron Keener in the massive new expansion to The Division 2, Warlords of New York, it's both a day of joy and frustration. Joy because it's here, and frustration because the servers are having a massive case of launch day fires.

Access to Warlords of New York went live at around Noon UTC for players on PC, while console players can jump in from midnight local time, with the Title Update 8 patch available to play around in before then. Unfortunately, players trying to login are being greeted with an ECHO error that Ubisoft is currently investigating.

In the meantime, you can entertain yourself with the lengthy patch notes which cover everything added in both Title Update 8 and Warlords of New York, which includes the much-discussed "Gear 2.0" reworking to all gear. Additionally, the gear score cap is now up to 515 for players in D.C. that don't go into the new expansion, there are new exotics, new weapon drops, and of course, a whole new narrative campaign and map to explore.

Check out the full patch notes on the Ubisoft forums and join me in crossing everything that the fires are extinguished soon.
