Desert map hitting PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds test servers soon
The long-awaited second map will be revealed at The Game Awards on December 7.
As grow ever closer to the 1.0 release of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) on PC, the test servers have been deployed over the last couple of weeks to test a number of new features, not least vaulting.
The next big step, besides the highly anticipated Xbox One release on December 12, is the desert map. And that'll be playable next week.
But first, the debut of the new map will happen at The Game Awards on December 7.

The game's official Twitter account revealed that the desert map will be playable in the next deployment of the test servers, also happening next week. This plus a brand new weapon that will be exclusive to the new map.
The test servers are now offline. Thank you for helping us test and for all your feedback.

The latest test session for the 1.0 release has just closed and as yet there's no word on when the servers will open up again. Presumably, it'll be after The Game Awards, at least. There's no word on when the Xbox One version of the game may see the new map, but we'll see what happens there on December 12.
