AMD has some fancy new Ryzen 6000 mobile processors available for laptops and you can be sure Dell is going to use them for its Alienware m15 and m17 range of gaming laptops. For CES 2022, the company is launching precisely that, new 15 and 17-inch laptops with the latest components from AMD and NVIDIA.
Starting with the Alienware m17 R5, Dell worked hard with AMD to work in various existing technologies, new mobile CPUs and GPUs, and AMD's SmartAccess Graphics. This is the first time we've seen the technology incorporated on a Dell Alienware laptop and works largely the same as desktop Ryzen processors and Radeon GPUs.
The laptops are stylish, yet aren't too obnoxious for those who aren't fond of the "gamer" design language. All m-series laptops from Dell here will come with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos certification, meaning you should be able to enjoy your favorite movies and games with a more immersive experience.
For specifications, the m17 R5 AMD has it all. You've got the choice of the latest 6000-series AMD CPUs, topping out with the AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX. For graphics cards, you can configure up to an AMD Radeon RX 6850M XT. RAM and storage are also impressive with DDR5 support (up to 32GB) and 4TB PCIe NVMe SSDs ready to go.
