Is Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 good for gaming?

Best answer: Overall, no. However, you'll be able to play older games and simple ones without too many issues. At the end of the day, though, this laptop is suited for business, not gaming. If you want a gaming laptop, why not check out the Razer Blade 15?Your business friend: Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 ($1,600 at Dell)Suited for gaming: Alienware m15 ($2,000 at Dell)

How does the laptop perform for gaming?

Since the Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 is equipped with Intel UHD Graphics 620 hardware and, at best, an Intel Core i7-8665U processor (the lowest spec option you can choose is an i5-8265U), it's not a very good device for modern gaming. You'll be able to play older games like the Half-Life titles or the older Counter-Strike games, and you'll also be able to play browser games, light indie titles, and ports of mobile titles well, but that's about it.

What makes the Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 great?

While it's not really good for gaming, there are still plenty of other reasons why you'll want to consider the Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1. Its all-metal design gives it incredible durability and its compact and thin, so you won't have any issues taking it with you on the go. The full HD display is also quite good, its touch functionality is responsive, and it has great color accuracy.

The device comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD hard drive space by default, but you can upgrade to 16GB of RAM and up to a whopping 2TB of storage space respectively. The graphics hardware and processor are also strong enough to handle any work-related task you throw at it.

The best thing about the Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 is that it gets an incredible battery life of around 15 hours, which is a lot more than most other laptops. This will be incredibly useful to someone who works in business, as often times you'll need enough battery to get you through long days of working.

In addition, the device also comes with a special Express Sign-In feature that makes excellent use of Windows Hello. Using an IR camera above the screen, the Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 will immediately sign you in if it detects your face — even when it's in sleep mode. However, if you get up and leave the device still open, it will lock itself after a set amount of time until the camera recognizes your face again. This is useful because it's great for security, and also because it will help cut down on battery usage.

What about something for gaming?

If you're set on getting a laptop that's great for gaming, then we recommend the Alienware m15. It comes with a beefy Intel Core i7-9750H processor and can be outfitted with either an NVIDIA RTX 2060 or 2070 graphics card, both of which are cutting edge GPUs. In addition, all configurations come with 16GB of RAM, and they all also come with a 512GB SSD hard drive. These specs make the Alienware m15 a very competent gaming laptop that can run any current game with a good frame rate without any real trouble. The HD display is just as solid as the one that comes with the Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1, too.

All of this power and performance comes at the cost of a lot of battery life (you'll only get a few hours out of this laptop before needing to charge), but if you want something that's best suited for gaming, this is the device for you.
