What you need to know

  • Cyberpunk 2077 is the latest open-world RPG project from CD Projekt RED, the creators of the Witcher 3.
  • The game has been teased and hyped up for years, but it's finally launching in just a few days after critical acclaim in reviews.
  • Before the game's launch, CD Projekt RED has released a new launch trailer for Cyberpunk 2077, focused on the main character V.
  • The trailer is about death, relationships with the people in Night City, and the dangers around every corner in Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 is just around the corner, and that means a brand-new official launch trailer right before release. CD Projekt RED's latest project, and the first major game since the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, takes players to the dark, twisted world inside of Night City as V, the main protagonist that can be whoever and whatever you want them to be. In our Cyberpunk 2077 review, we called Cyberpunk 2077 a "masterpiece," but one that's still in need of more polish.

The new launch trailer is a more personal one than recent gameplay trailers, focusing on the likelihood of death in the violent Night City, the importance of relationships with Cyberpunk 2077's many characters, and much more. It's a solid trailer, and could very well be the last trailer we get for Cyberpunk 2077 (after nearly eight years of waiting) before the game finally releases to the masses.

Cyberpunk 2077 officially launches December 10, 2020, on Xbox, Playstation, Stadia, and PC. The game will work day one on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, with a full next-gen upgrade coming next year.
