Looking for a reminder on how many days remain until a special event? At Countdown for Windows Phone 8 devices might be just what you're looking for.
At Countdown keeps track of daily or hourly countdowns to events such as the start of a vacation, retirement, wedding vows, anniversaries, a root canal or a birthday. At Countdown also adds Windows Phone 8 support for the different live tile sizes and lockscreen support.
At Countdown's layout is simple with a page displaying the active countdown timer, a page for the timer's settings and a page for the obligatory "about" information.
From the settings can set the date, add a message to the top and bottom of the message and select the time unit to display. You also have the option to add a photo to the background from your Pictures Hub, use your Windows Phone theme color for the lockscreen, display the last updated (last edit to the timer) timestamp and set the timer as your Windows Phone lockscreen wallpaper.
At Countdown is a nice, simple app for keeping track of how far away or close an event is. The lockscreen feature needs a little work in that it would be nice to just add the timer widget or allowing the image to extend full screen. As is, the wallpaper is a little choppy.
