Cortana is reportedly starting to speak Spanish and Italian

Microsoft may have made more server updates to its Cortana digital assistant for Windows Phone 8.1 that apparently expand its language support to include Spanish and Italian, at least for a limited number of users.

Reports of Spanish support in Cortana comes from a story on WindowsPhoneapps.es via a tip from one of their readers, but they also warn than they were unable to reproduce the behavior on their own. WindowsBlogItalia first reported the Italian language support but again, this appears to be visible for just a few Windows Phone testers.

So what's going on? It's likely that Microsoft is making some small dips in the Cortana update pool to test out how their digital assistant handles languages other than English US, English UK and Chinese. We don't expect full support for other languages by the end of this year or sometime in 2015. In the meantime, which language would you like to see Cortana use in future updates?
