Control the temp and your smart home with the Ecobee SmartThermostat on sale for $199
The 5th-generation Ecobee SmartThermostat with voice control is on sale for $199 at Amazon. This is the first deal we've seen on the Ecobee since Black Friday, and this price matches what it dropped to during the big holiday sales event. If you missed your opportunity then, or you just weren't in the market for a smart thermostat at the time, then here's your chance to snag one at a fantastic price. You can also find it going this low at a couple of other retailers like Home Depot.
While it doesn't continue the established naming convention, the Ecobee SmartThermostat could just as well be the Ecobee 5. It is a direct improvement over previous generations. The SmartThermostat features a glass finish, a touchscreen display with vivid, clear text, a quad-core processor for keeping up to speed, and more. You get Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and even far-field voice recognition so you can yell at it from anywhere in your living room and it'll pick up your voice and respond to your commands.
It also comes with an extra smart sensor. Use this sensor to monitor a specific room's specific temperature. That's important when you need more accurate control in a certain part of the house, like a baby's room. The sensor can automatically adjust the Ecobee as well, and it will do that based on how many people are (or are not) in the room to keep things at a comfortable level.
You can even save money with this smart thermostat in the long run because it will help you reduce waste and lower your energy costs whether heating or cooling. Ecobee makes it as easy as possible to install, and there are video walkthroughs you can use on the Ecobee app. It works with Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit, and even has Amazon Alexa built into it so you don't even need a separate Amazon device.
