Can you play Halo: The Master Chief Collection PC with Xbox Game Pass?
What is Xbox Game Pass?
Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft's Netflix-style subscription service for gaming, providing access to a rotating library of titles for a flat $10 monthly fee. Currently serving over 100 digital titles, it's an ideal way to secure an extensive Xbox One collection without the often-associated cost. And with Microsoft's in-house exclusives like Halo, Gears of War, and Forza launching day-one on Xbox Game Pass, it's rapidly become a valuable subscription for many.
Could Halo: MCC be included with Xbox Game Pass?
Microsoft is yet to discuss Halo: The Master Chief Collection PC availability and pricing, also extending to Xbox Game Pass plans. However, with the subscription now a key component of its gaming presence, there are several pointers to its inclusion.
Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella, has openly discussed plans to bring Xbox Game Pass to PC, likely packing a familiar ever-changing lineup for subscribers. We already see the early stages of its PC debut and understand ongoing efforts at Microsoft to scale its PC offerings. And with Halo: The Master Chief Collection a staple of the Xbox lineup, what better game to push adoption?
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is also included under Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One, making PC a natural extension. And if supporting Xbox Play Anywhere, Microsoft's initiative for Xbox One and Windows 10 cross-platform purchases, the existing console license will naturally extend to PC for existing subscribers.
However, with Xbox Game Pass for PC or Play Anywhere support yet to be formally discussed by Microsoft, take this lightly until official confirmation.
Why pick up Halo: The Master Chief Collection?
Following its unveiling earlier this year, Halo: The Master Chief Collection is poised for a Windows 10 and Steam debut in 2019. Marking the full series' PC debut, its arrival should deliver a renewed potential for the first-person shooter. While kicking off its rollout with 2010's Halo: Reach, the first four mainline games and Halo 3: ODST will follow over the months ahead. From iconic campaign experiences to the full multiplayer suite, there's fun for both Halo veterans and newcomers.
Although Halo: The Master Chief Collection isn't set to hit PC, it first released on Xbox One back in 2014. Recently upgraded 4K HDR visuals, alongside 60 FPS gameplay, it's the best way to experience Halo so far. If you can't wait for PC, it's a high-value package for all.
