Call of Duty League, in partnership with Treyarch, has officially announced that Ranked Play will be coming to Call of Duty: Vanguard as a beta mode on Feb. 17, three days after the launch of Vanguard's Season 2 content.
Ranked Play will pit players against each other in a 4v4 playlist that features CDL Hardpoint, CDL Search & Destroy, and CDL Control matches with limits and rules that mirror those used by the Call of Duty League.
All players will find that weapons and equipment are all unlocked regardless of their multiplayer progression, but they will also find that there are no shotguns or LMGs allowed in these playlists. Other killstreaks, attachments, and weapons are similarly restricted. However, players will be able to unlock weapon blueprints, camos, charms and more as seasonal rewards by progressing through Ranked Play's divisions and tiers.
Players jumping into Ranked Play will play five Skill Evaluation matches after which they will start to earn Skill Rating points following each win. A player's skill rating will be visible to everybody so that they know who they're going up against and can track their own progress easily. As players rack up skill rating points they'll progress through Skill Divisions and Tiers, earning rewards for every five levels.
Player rewards include weapon blueprints, camos, charms, calling cards and emblems. Those that manage to make it to the max rank of 50 will be rewarded with an exclusive "Ranked Royalty" Operator skin for Solange. All players of Ranked will receive an animated emblem that reflects their final Division placement. Later in the season, players who manage to win 25 matches at the Master Skill Division or higher will a limited edition "Ranked Legend" operator skin for Solange. Ranked Play will also feature Bi-weekly Ladder events — one beginning on Mondays and the other beginning on Fridays — which will provide additional rewards for players.
Treyarch plans to expand on Ranked Play as 2022 progresses, with plans to introduce a new Top 250 Division leaderboard, as well as plans for future content in Season 3 and beyond.
