Call of Duty 2020 won't feature jetpacks
It's boots on the ground, again.
What you need to know
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a first-person shooter from Activision.
- Call of Duty 2020 will follow its model and not feature jetpacks.
- The game is being developed by Treyarch and expected in October or November 2020.
- You can purchase Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for $60 on Amazon.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare garnered great reviews at launch and boasts some of the highest player counts this generation. However, it's 2020 and we're looking forward to the next iteration of the acclaimed franchise. According to a report by IGN, next year's Call of Duty — developed by Treyarch — won't feature jetpacks.
When asked if the upcoming game had jetpacks, Treyarch Studio Design Director David Vonderhaar vehemently said "no." He added, "Such short-term memories. You hung me from the highest branch. No. No. I have PTSD." Given the fact that there was massive outcry again the jetpacks a few years ago, it makes sense that Treyarch would want to avoid a repeat of that.
We don't know much about the upcoming Call of Duty game, but Treyarch has a great track record. Hopefully, the game will feature a single-player campaign because Call of Duty: Modern Warfare blew everyone away with its iteration. What do you hope to see out of Call of Duty 2020? What do you think it'll focus on? Let us know.
