Boss Update for Minecraft Pocket Edition and Windows 10 delayed due to Creeper bug
For those who were waiting for the Boss Update to hit Minecraft Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Beta today, we have a bit of bad news!
Minecraft Pocket Edition for Windows Phone and the Windows 10 Beta were due to pick up a large update today adding ocean monuments, up to 20 slash commands, the Wither and Guardian boss battles, and more. Additionally, the Boss Update will bring the first layer of add-on customization to the game, allowing players to edit existing mob's skins and behavior using tools as simple as Notepad and MS Paint.
Sadly, the update has been delayed due to a rather aggressive bug.
Minecraft PR lead Aubrey Norris tweeted that Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Beta players would have to wait a few extra days for the boss update, due to a bug that allows the game's iconic Creepers to explode through walls.
For those who may not know what this bug could entail, refer to the video of our own Zac Bowden encountering a Creeper below.
Poor Zac.
The Boss Update is another step towards Mojang's goal of bringing the various Minecraft editions into closer parity, ahead of allowing Xbox One, Pocket Edition and Windows 10 players to play together on the same dedicated Realm. We'll let you know when the update finally arrives!
