What you need to know

  • Borderlands 3 first released back in September 2019.
  • The PC version has been exclusive to the Epic Games Store.
  • During PAX East, Gearbox confirmed that Borderlands 3 was coming to Steam on March 13.
  • The Steam version will have full cross-play with the Epic Games Store.

While Borderlands 3 has been out since September last year, the PC version has been restricted to the Epic Games Store. During the Gearbox PAX East 2020 livestream, Gearbox shared the news that Borderlands 3 was coming to Steam on March 13. In addition, it will have full cross-play with the Epic Games Store version, so PC players can all loot and shoot together. You can find the Steam listing right here.

In our review for the game, staff writer Jennifer Locke wrote that "It's been seven years since Borderlands 2 released, and I'm happy to say that Borderlands 3 was worth the long wait. Character arcs receive well-earned endings, questions are answered regarding lore and theories that fans will love, and the gunplay is top-notch. Any stumbles Borderlands 3 takes are overwhelmingly outshined by what it does well."
