When using a gaming laptop for intense gaming, its internal components can sometimes get hot due to the stress on the machine. When this happens, gaming performance can slow, and the lifespan of your computer's hardware can be reduced, too. Cooling pads are special devices that can help keep this from happening to laptops like the Razer Blade Pro 17. The best overall cooling pad you can get for your Razer Blade Pro 17 is the CM Storm SF-17. Between its awesome cooling power, quad USB ports, and adjustable positioning, you won't find a better cooling pad on the market.

Best Overall: CM Storm SF-17

CM Storm SF-17

Stay cool no matter what

Reasons to buy

+
Very effective cooling
+
Massive fan
+
Excellent adjustability
+
Plenty of USB ports
+
Cable management

Reasons to avoid

-
A little pricey

The CM Storm SF-17 is the cream of the crop when it comes to laptop cooling pads. It offers incredible cooling power thanks to its massive 180mm fan, and it comes with a speed dial that can be used to crank up the power or tone it down depending on how hot your Razer Blade Pro 17 is getting during gameplay sessions. The fan itself is completely silent.

In addition, the CM Storm SF-17 also comes with some fantastic features. There are four USB slots on the cooling pad that make it possible to connect a variety of other devices to your setup, which is great if you want to be able to plug in USB charging cables, a Wi-Fi router, and an external hard drive all at once, among other peripherals. There are also cable grooves on the sides that will make managing cables incredibly easy. Lastly, there are four different heights that you can set the cooling pad at, which means that everyone will be able to find a way to use the pad comfortably regardless of height.

Second Place: HAVIT Laptop Cooling Pad

HAVIT Laptop Cooling Pad

Excellent alternative

Reasons to buy

+
Great cooling
+
A good amount of features
+
Adjustable
+
Less expensive

Reasons to avoid

-
No cable grooves
-
Fewer USB ports

The HAVIT Laptop Cooling Pad is a great alternative to the CM Storm SF-17 that has powerful cooling, but fewer bonus features. Instead of one massive fan, the HAVIT Laptop Cooling Pad uses one large fan and four smaller ones. This cooling method is great overall, but the CM Storm SF-17 still performs a bit better. Thankfully, the fans are still quiet.

Unfortunately, unlike the CM Storm SF-17, the HAVIT Laptop Cooling Pad only has two USB ports instead of four, and it also comes without the cable grooves that help when trying to keep your set up neat and tidy. Thankfully, it does come with adjustable height, but the lack of the extra USB ports and cable grooves is a bummer.

Budget Choice: AICHESON Laptop Cooling Pad

AICHESON Laptop Cooling Pad

Solid bang for your buck

Reasons to buy

+
Lowest price
+
A good amount of features
+
Adjustable

Reasons to avoid

-
Weaker cooling
-
Fewer USB ports

The AICHESON Laptop Cooling Pad is an option best for people who are on a budget or don't want to spend too much on a laptop cooling pad. It has one large fan and four smaller ones, just like the HAVIT Laptop Cooling Pad, but the fans are of lower quality and thus, do not cool as well. The pad isn't bad at cooling by any means, but it's far from the best. Still, it will noticeably improve your Razer Blade Pro 17's temperature and performance in-game, and its fans don't make much noise. After spending thousands on the laptop, you might not want to splurge too much on a cooling pad, anyway.

In terms of features, the AICHESON Laptop Cooling Pad is identical to its HAVIT counterpart: it only has two USB ports and it lacks cable grooves. Thankfully, it still has height adjustability.

Bottom line

Cooling pads are an incredibly useful gaming laptop accessory, and they can help improve both your Razer Blade Pro 17's performance and its lifespan. At the end of the day, the CM Storm SF-17 is the best laptop cooling pad you can buy for the Razer Blade Pro 17 thanks to its elite cooling power and multitude of bonus features. It's a little pricey, but you absolutely get what you pay for, and the Razer Blade Pro 17 is an investment worth protecting.
