Battlefield V gets spectacularly dramatic launch trailer
You can play it right now.
Battlefield V is an upcoming first-person shooter set in World War II. The game features single-player campaign scenarios similar to Battlefield 1. For example, one of the main missions focuses on a female solider, her history, and her family. The developer said that Battlefield V tells the "untold stories of World War II", but it's unclear if they're works of fiction or interactive reenactments.
Today, EA released the game's launch trailer. While the trailer doesn't showcase anything new, it does give us a taste of the multiplayer gameplay and campaign. As expected, Battlefield V features a lot of dramatic moments and set pieces. Hopefully the final product will live up to everyone's expectations.
Unlike Battlefield 1, it seems like the focus here is to merge all forms of gameplay — foot, vehicular, and aerial — into every map. There seems to be a lot of environmental variety too. Hopefully snipers won't run amok in this iteration of the game. There need to be better balancing this time around, especially when it comes to certain loadouts having unfair advantages.
Battlefield V was supposed to launch earlier this year, but was delayed to November 20, 2018 a few weeks ago. The beta test was quite rough around the edges, especially when it came to performance on Xbox One. Even the Xbox One X performance wasn't that great.
