Microsoft Band owners who also have a Windows 10 or Windows 10 Mobile device can download the first big update to the third-party Bandsider app, which was first released earlier this month. The update includes some new features, including new daily challenges.
The app's deveoper says:
- The first round of Challenges are all "on my honor" challenges that users can participate in, and mark completed without verification. The next round (starting next week) will also include "Verified" Challenges, where your Microsoft Health information will be used to verify, such as Heart Rate, Distance, Step, Sleep, and Calorie verifications.
- Users can send each other congratulations and encouragement directly to each other's Bands when participating in Challenges.
- Challenges are in a number of various categories, like General Activity, Props (like requiring equipment) Aerobic, and even "Karma" Activities that promote wellness.
- Users can set Reminders for when a Challenges will start and end to make it easy to remember.
In addition, Bandsider now has a new optional Dark theme, along with a new "Inner Circle" grouping for friends that you like to interact with more than usual. At the moment, the app is priced at $1.99 but it is expected to go up to $2.99 in the near future.
