Back 4 Blood open beta begins August 12, early access for preorders

Upcoming zombie shooter, Back 4 Blood, is set to host its open beta this August, Warner Bros. has announced. The latest on the title, developed by Turtle Rock Studios, comes via the Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live event. The publisher debuted a new trailer, accompanied by details on the first public test.

The Back 4 Blood open beta is set to commence on August 12, although with early access also available to those who preorder from August 5. The beta will provide one of the latest opportunities to try the game before its October 12 release date, with a sample of the content expected at launch. It follows the Back 4 Blood closed alpha test, which ran through December 2020.

Summer Game Fest also provided a new trailer for Back 4 Blood, showcasing its shooter gameplay, designed around cooperative experiences. The footage also included the tease of a new boss, although with more details set for an upcoming E3 2021 showcase. We expect to learn more about Back 4 Blood on June 13, with a dedicated Warner Bros. showcase dedicated to the title from 5 PM ET / 2 PM PT as a part of E3 2021.

Back 4 Blood is scheduled to launch on October 12, 2021, headed to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and the latest Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 systems.
