ASUS' 'ultra thin' Zephyrus S gaming laptop goes up for preorder
The "world's thinnest gaming laptop" is now available to preorder, albeit with a pretty steep price tag.
Earlier this month, ASUS upped the ante on portable gaming power with the reveal of its new ROG Zephyrus S and ROG Strix II, and now both are available for preorder. You can now preorder the ROG Zephyrus S for $1,899, while the ROG Strix SCAR II can be preordered starting at $1,699.
For the money, the Zephyrus S model available for preorder packs Intel's Core i7-8750H processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q graphics, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage. And while the 15-inch display packs a resolution of 1920x1080, it comes with a 144Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time. Incredibly, ASUS has packed all of this inside an incredibly thin chassis, at 0.62 inches thick.
Meanwhile, the Strix SCAR II also includes an Intel Core i7-8750H processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics, 16GB of RAM, and a storage combo of 256GB of SSD and 1TB SSHD. The 15.6-inch display also comes in at a 1080p resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time.
