Assassin's Creed Valhalla release date set for November 17
This Viking romp is scheduled to arrive in time for the holidays.
What you need to know
- Assassin's Creed Valhalla is the next big entry in the long-running Assassin's Creed series.
- During today's Ubisoft Forward presentation, we got to see more of the game.
- We also got a release date, as Assassin's Creed Valhalla is set to be available on November 17, 2020.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is coming soon and now we've got an official release date during Ubisoft Forward, though it had leaked a day prior. The game is scheduled to launch on November 17, 2020.
We also finally got a look at the female version of Eivor, the player character. Valhalla takes place during England's Dark Ages in the 9th century, with broken kingdoms and warring lands vying for control. Eivor will lead their clan to a new life, much to the anger of King Alfred of Wessex.
As we've heard before, players will be able to dual wield all combinations of weapons, including two shields, if the player chooses. You might not find that violence is the answer to all of your problems though. Stealth is just as valid an approach. Exploration is a huge aspect of Valhalla, too. The more you explore, the more secrets you'll come across, which is crucial for gaining alliances and building your settlement.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is coming to Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC and Stadia. It supports Xbox Smart Delivery so people who purchase on Xbox One will get a free upgrade for Xbox Series X.
Conquer new lands for glory and honor
This new entry in the long-running franchise follows Eivor, a man or woman of your choosing who leads a Viking settlement in raids and battles against the Saxons. While you'll explore Norway and the kingdoms of England, it won't quite be the largest Assassin's Creed game in the franchise.
