April's free Xbox Games with Gold feature Assassin's Creed Syndicate and The Witness

Microsoft just announced April's free Games with Gold for Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners. Starting on April 1, 2018, Cars 2: The Video Game and The Witness will be free with the subscription. Then on April 16, Xbox Live Gold members can download Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Dead Space 2 at no cost. Cars 2: The Video Game and Dead Space 2 are backward compatible so you can also play them on your Xbox One or Xbox One X.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Assassin's Creed Syndicate lifted the franchise after the Assassin's Creed Unity debacle. This installment in the popular series transports players to London in 1868. In the heart of the Industrial Revolution, players lead their underworld organization and grow their influence to fight those who exploit the less privileged in the name of progress.

Cars 2: The Video Game

Inspired by the Disney-Pixar film of the same name, Cars 2: The Video Game lets players jump into the Cars universe with some of their favorite characters and locations. The game continues the storyline from the film as players can choose to race as Mater, Lightning McQueen, or certain new vehicles. There's also an option to train so that you can become the best "car spy" there is. The goal is to take on dangerous missions, compete to become the fastest car in the world, or take on foes in combat racing and battle arenas.

Dead Space 2

In Dead Space 2, players join Isaac Clarke, the Systems Engineer from the original Dead Space, as he wakes up three years after the horrific events of the first game. After unearthing a strange artifact known as the Marker, Isaac finds himself on the Sprawl, a giant space station in orbit around Saturn. Unable to remember how he got here and plagued with terrifying visions of his dead girlfriend, he must survive another outbreak of "Necromorphs" as he fights his way towards an answer he hopes will end all the chaos.

The Witness

The Witness is a single-player puzzle game in an open world with dozens of locations to explore and over 500 puzzles. This game respects you as an intelligent player and it treats your time as precious. There's no filler because each of those puzzles brings its own new idea into the mix. While the title may be difficult, reaching the end is quite rewarding.

Be sure to download all four of these games next month because many of them are great experiences. Out of all of these, we would recommend that you play The Witness because it's an incredible title. Not only does it features eye-popping visuals, but the puzzles require a lot of thought as well.
