AOC unleashes new AGON 3 gaming displays with beautiful curves

AOC makes some excellent monitors and the company's AGON gaming series has a few new additions for 2019. The new AG273QCG and AG273QCX are part of the third generation of AGON displays, packing inside impressive specifications and some cool additions that gamers will appreciate.

The new 27-inch AG273QCG comes equipped with a curved TN panel (1800R) with a QHD resolution. This is the NVIDIA G-sync monitor with a refresh rate of 165Hz and an impressive 1ms response time. With a brightness of around 400 nits, it's also going to be bright enough for your most intense PC games. As an added bonus, AOC has thrown in 2W speakers as a Digital Theater Systems (DTS) solution.

What some gamers may like is the addition of RGB lighting on the rear of the display.

AOC AG273QCX

As you may have guessed already, the AOC AG273QCX is the FreeSync display for AMD GPU PC-powered owners. It has a slightly lower refresh rate of 144Hz, the same response time of 1ms, and a similar VA 1800R curved panel. What sets this apart from the G-Sync monitor (Aside from the refresh rate and supported sync tech) is the addition of HDR support.

The HDR support meets the standard for VESA DisplayHDR 400 and AMD FreeSync 2 makes this an excellent choice for gaming without lag input. There's also the same DTS-compliant speakers installed, but these are 5W units.

Both the AG273QCG and AG273QCX have refreshed OCD menu for more convenient monitor management and are expected to be available in January 2019, priced at £719 and £629, respectively.
