AMD is launching special editions of Radeon VII and Ryzen 7 2700X for its 50th anniversary

AMD is celebrating its 50th anniversary later this month, and to commemorate the occasion, the company is launching special editions of the Radeon VII and the Ryzen 7 2700X. As spotted by VideoCardz, the GPU and CPU are set to make their debut on April 29, and if the packaging is any indication, the Radeon VII will feature a red shroud instead of the usual silver.

At this point, we don't know if the changes are purely cosmetic, or if AMD is planning to increase the clock speeds on the Radeon VII and the Ryzen 7 2700X. Alongside AMD's special editions, we'll also see limited edition motherboards and video cards from partners like Gigabyte and Sapphire, so the anniversary event is turning out to be a pretty interesting one.

With the launch just under a week away, we should know more details shortly. Who's excited?
